Hello! I'm Miranda. I'm an artist and homeschooling parent. I write here about a range of topics–health, art, culture, education–with a focus on family life. I live in rural Maryland with my husband and four children.

The world today can feel unkind and ugly. Many of us are confused and upset and scared of what’s to come. I think we forget that humans across time and space are bound together by struggle. Life has never been easy and the path forward has never been clear. But we can take heart in the tremendous resilience of the human spirit. Born out of struggle are music and poetry and sculpture and dance. Art is the restless soul reaching for the divine. Never underestimate it’s power to lift us and unite us. We can all make space for beauty to express itself through our words and deeds. We can sing and cook and paint and recite poetry and take care of each other. Through heartache and illness and injustice, beauty never leaves us. And where beauty lives, there is hope.
