Fiona has been walking for several weeks now and she's spending more and more of her time out-of-arms. This is both a happy and sad progression for me. I know she'll always be my girl, but I'm also so aware that she doesn't belong to me. She is her own person who has to experience the world in a way that makes sense to her, sometimes on her own. I watch in wonderment as her world expands to include other children, playground equipment and what a dog says.
